The Ph.D in Christian Business Management is a two-year postgraduate degree program aimed at pastors, and business management, enterpeneurs, and other leaders seeking professional and personal growth. It provides advanced coursework and thesis with a focus on mega Christian businesses and mega-churches. The program is designed for experienced business people and Christian leaders to expand their knowledge, skills, attitude, and experience in-depth at a major Christian organizational issue. Students will learn about modern strategic issues, scientific research techniques, and the impact of cultural, ethical, and global issues on business theory and practice. They will also develop analytical and critical thinking skills to make effective decisions in complex business environments.

Program Goals

The Ph.D in Christian Management aims to integrate Christian faith into intercultural business environments and prepare marketplace ministers for professional work. The program seeks to develop senior managers and consultants’ critical thinking and analytical skills through the application of scientific research methods in business settings. Students will gain a deep appreciation for cultural, ethical, and global issues, which impact business theory and practice, and learn to make effective decisions in complex business environments by integrating theoretical knowledge into practical applications.

Program Learning Outcomes

The Ph.D in Christian Business Management both aim to develop students’ critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as their ability to apply scientific and scholarly research methods in business settings. They also provide an understanding of the impact of cultural, ethical, and global issues on business theory and practices and prepare students for advanced Christian leadership positions by developing their knowledge of essential theories in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing, and teaching them how to produce autonomous research results and effectively communicate them to different audiences.

Degree Requirements

To complete a Ph.D. in Christian Business Management Administration, students are typically required to complete a 60-credit program, which includes advanced coursework and a thesis. Students will develop their knowledge of funding models for non-profit and large Christian organizations, current managerial issues and projects, and essential theories in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. Additionally, students will learn critical thinking and research skills to produce autonomous research results and effectively communicate them to both expert and non-expert audiences. The program is designed for experienced businesspeople and Christian leaders looking to expand their knowledge, skills, and experience to better address major Christian organizational issues. The program typically takes three years to complete.

The prescribed courses cover topics such as the Genesis Genealogies, the Lamp of the Covenant, and the Ten Bestowals and the Beatitude. Elective courses include Ancient Near Eastern Studies 1 and 2, Theology of the Gospel, and The Theory and Practice of Biblical Theology.

The program also includes core courses such as God’s Calling, Gifts, Talents, Skills, and Leadership, Sufficiency of the Word of God, Skills for Deeper Ministry, Toward Global Ministry, Research Methodology/Dissertation Writing, and two D.Min. Project courses. Through these courses, students will gain an advanced understanding of Christian Studies and ministry, learn to apply biblical theology to various ministry settings, and develop competencies for a theologically reflective practice of ministry.
